Women get paid less than men when they do as much work is because of gender bias, because men have been at work longer than women in US (women technically stayed at home more often). It was not until after the World Wars that a majority of them wanted to work outside the house. This meant that people had to change their viewpoints from only male to both male and female. Since males have been working outside of home for certain jobs longer, they usually get paid more.
