Answer: 70 bags

First, we will find the area of the path. Let us first get the area of the outer circle, then subtract the area of the inner circle:

A_(20)=\pi r^2=\pi(20)^2=1256.64
A_(17)=\pi r^2=\pi(17)^2=907.92
A=1256.64-907.92=348.72

Then, we will find out how many bags of sand can cover the path if one path covers 5yd²

Let us round off the area to 350 yd², then divide it by 5 to find how many bags of sand do we need:

(350)/(5)=70

Therefore, we need 70 bags of sand to cover the path.
