Conisder that the given hexagnal patch can be considered as formed by six triangles with the same area.

THen, the area of the hexagonal patch is:

AT = 6*A

where A is the area of one triangle, given by:

A = b·h/2

where b is the base (b = 4 cm) and h th height (h = 3.5 cm):

A = (4 cm)(3.5 cm)/2 = 7 cm²

Then, the total area of the hexagonal patch is:

AT = 6*(7 cm²) = 42 cm²
