Grammatical construction. "The boy was bitten by the dog" is written in the passive voice, while "the dog bit the boy" is in the active voice. The use of each of these writing styles is determined by what you desire to focus on.

the answer to this question is Syntax
Syntax is the arrangement of several words to form one sentence. Different syntax could have a different meaning depending on the structure of your language. Other example would be "Jenna kissed chris on the lips." and "Chris' lips was kissed by Jenna"
