Which of the following equations describes the line shown below?

The equation of the line is,

y = mx+b

the slope m

m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

point 1 (x1, y1) = (-4,4)

point 2 (x2, y2) = (2,1)

Replacing

m = (1-4)/(2-(-4))

m = (-3)/(6)

m= - 1/2

d and f are discarded

The equation of the line can also be expressed as,

point 1 (x1, y1) = (-4,4)

(y-y1) = ( - 1/2)( x- x1)

(y-4) = ( - 1/2)( x+4)

point 2 (x2, y2) = (2,1)

(y-y2) = ( - 1/2)( x- x2)

(y-2) = ( - 1/2)( x- 1)

The answer is b (y-4) = ( - 1/2)( x+4)
