Toluene is not soluble in water. This aromatic hydrocarbon is an organic solvent. But some inorganic substances like iodine and- bromine can dissolve in it.
HOPES THIS HELP'S!!! :)

Step-by-step explanation:

Toulene is an organic compound that has molecular formula as
C_(7)H_(8). Since it is an organic compound and non-polar in nature so, it is soluble in organic solvents like acetone.

Whereas molecular formula of water is
H_(2)O and water is a polar solvent. As we know that like dissolves like hence, toulnene being non-polar in nature is insoluble in water.

Hence, when both toulene and water mixes together then an immiscible layer is formed.

And, toulene being less dense than water rises to the top of water and water being more denser than toulene will remain at the bottom.

Thus, we can conclude that the bottom layer is water.
