The table represents y as a function of x.

To justify this let's remember the definition of function:

A function from a set X to a set Y assigns to each element of X exactly one element of Y.

In this case we notice that for each element x their corresponding value of y is the fourth power, that is, we can relate the variables by the equation:


y=x^4

Now, since we only have one output for every input we fulfil the second part of the definition and hence we conclude that the table is representing a function.
