<b><i>HEY THERE!!

GIVEN EQUATION:- –2y + 16 + 6y = 44

➡️4y = 44-16
➡️4y = 28
➡️y = 28 / 4
➡️y = 7

So the correct answer is (b.) 7

if you subtract 16 on both sides (44-16=28) you'll be left with -2y+6y=28. Then doing -2+6 because they have alike terms (both have y) you'll get 4y which leaves you with 4y=28. then divide 4 on both sides to get y alone. 28 divided by 4 is 7. y=7
