if f(x) = |2x – 1| – 5
f(-3) = |2(-3) – 1| – 5
f(-3) = |-6 - 1| - 5
f(-3) = |-7| - 5
f(-3) = 7 -5
f(-3) = 2

To answer this question, plug -3 in for X : (Remember that the | symbol means absolute value)
f(-3) = |2x - 1| - 5
f(-3) = |-6 - 1| -5
f(-3) = |-7| - 5
f(-3) = 7 - 5 Absolute value of -7 = 7
f(-3) = 2
