1 + 3x/4 = 5/2Step 1: Simplify both sides of the equation.1 + 3x/4 = 5/21 + 34/x = 5/23/4x + 1 = 5/2Step 2: Subtract 1 from both sides.3/4x + 1−1= 5/2−13/4x = 3/2Step 3: Multiply both sides by 4/3.(4/3)*(3/4x)=(4/3)*(3/2)x=2Answer:x=2

First, I prefer to multiply the entire equation by four to get rid of the fractions, but that is just personal preference. Eventually you would have to get rid of the fraction around x to simplify, but you could do it later.

4+3x=10
3x=6
x=2
