The period between 10,000 bce to 600 bce saw the shift from hunter and gatherer societies to the farming and agriculture one. In the hunter and gatherer society, women played a survival role of collecting food from plants such as fruits and vegetables. During the agricultural society, women were seen doing more of the preparation of food while the men were the ones gathering the food from farming or raising livestock.
