When it comes to prior experience, what is the rule of thumb regarding how many years of experience you should have in a comparable firm before starting a firm of your own?

The required years for a person to have before having to start a firm of their own is to have at least three to five years of experience in a comparable firm so that the individual may be able to understand and know how to run a firm and to know its function and how he or she will manage a firm of his or her own.
