Volume of a cube = L^3 where L is the length of a cube

Given number of cubes = 17,576

Substitute in the formula above;

17,576 = L^3

Take cube root of both sidesTake cube root of bi=oth sidess

L^3 = 17,576

\begin{gathered} L\text{ = }\sqrt[3]{17576} \\ L\text{ = 26} \end{gathered}

Hence 26 smaller cubes make up the edge of the sculpture
