1) x + y = 25 ; x - y = 3 ; ( -y/-1 ) = ( 3/-1 -x/-1 ); y= x -3

2) x + ( x - 3) = 25 : 2x = 28 : 2x/2 = 28/2 : x = 14

3) ( 14 ) + y = 25 ; 14 - 14 + y = 25 - 14 ; y = 11
