In Ron's neighborhood, 5 out of every 6 families get a newspaper. Currently, 75 of the families get a newspaper. How many families are in Ron's neighborhood?

To solve this question we use the following ratio


\frac{No\text{of families that have newspaper}}{\text{Total number of families}}

No of families with newspaper = 5

No of families in the neighbourhood = 6

If the number of families currently with newspaper = 75 then,


(5)/(6)=\frac{75}{\text{total number of families in the neighbourood}}
