Vegetarianism and above all veganism have become more than a diet a lifestyle. It has been a controversial subject for a while, on one hand, we have the effects on the individual and on the other in the environment. About the individual, those who defend plant-based diets argue more energy and in general, better health however studies have found that the need for animal protein is real for the human body, after all as we know our ancestors were omnivores, nonetheless, the debate continues. As for the environment, plant-based diets also have a great impact on the environment, after all, agriculture at large has severe consequences, however, it is possible to say that has a slightly minor effect than a meat-based diet. All the same, responsible consumption of meat is not necessarily bad, if farming (plant and animal) is well managed may have less impact than mismanaged agricultural land.
