We will determine the value of x that would make K || with J as follows:

*First: We have that if both lines were parallel, then both angles depicted would be supplementary, thus the following would be true:


(2x+13)+(3x+17)=180

Now, we solve for x:


\Rightarrow5x+30=180\Rightarrow5x=150
\Rightarrow x=30

So, the value of x for which both lines are parallel would be 30.
