Alex, a freshman in college, wants to know how many of her dormmates have tried marijuana, so she decides to survey everyone on her floor. despite rumors to the contrary, the results suggest that less than ten percent of her classmates have tried the drug. what is the most likely explanation for her findings?

The most likely explanation for her findings would be that people might have distorted their answers or fail to tell the complete truth when she did the survey. It might have been wiser to conduct the survey anonymously basing it in percentages so they might have felt more comfortable to answer honestly.
