Solution:

Given that;

The cost of a trip to African Lion Safari is shown by the equation

\begin{gathered} T=21.95C+29.95A \\ Where\text{ } \\ C\text{ }is\text{ }the\text{ }number\text{ }of\text{ }children \\ A\text{ }is\text{ }the\text{ }number\text{ }of\text{ }adults \end{gathered}

a) How much would it cost for 2 adults and 3 children, including tax

\begin{gathered} C=3,A=2 \\ T=21.95C+29.95A \\ T=21.95(3)+29.95(2) \\ T=65.85+59.9 \\ T=\text{\$}125.75 \end{gathered}

Hence, the cost for 2 adults and 3 children is $125.75

b) Andrew took his children to African Lion Safari and, it cost $139.70 before tax

Where

\begin{gathered} A=1 \\ T=\text{\$139.70} \\ T=21.95C+29.95A \\ 139.70=21.95C+29.95(1) \\ 139.70=21.95C+29.95 \\ Collect\text{ like terms } \\ 21.95C=139.70-29.95 \\ 21.95C=109.75 \\ C=(109.75)/(21.95) \\ C=5 \end{gathered}

Hence, Andrew have 5 children
