A shop advertised a 23% off sale. If a coat originally sold for $258, find the decrease in price and sale price

25% is .25
If you are taking 25% off a $1.00 item you would be taking off 25¢. You get that by multiplying 100¢ by .25. That is the decrese.
The sale price is $1.00 - 25¢

The decrease in price would be $59.34. The sale price would be $198.66. I got the answer by multiplying $258• .23= $59.34. The decrease in price is $59.34. Then you subtract the $59.34 from the original price $258 and you will get $198.66 for the sale price. Hope that helps.
