Given:-

A landscaper receives a discount on each plant purchased. The original price of each plant is x dollars. The landscaper purchases 10 plants for a total of (10x - 20) dollars.

To find:-

How much is each plant discounted?

The discount on the 10 plants is,

20

So now we use get,

(Totaldiscountplants)/(Noofdiscountplants)

So we get,

(20)/(10)=2

So the discount earned is $2.
