SOLUTION

Given the question in the question tab, the following is the solution step to get the number of red cars:

Total toy cars = 60

Percentage of toy cars that are red = 20

The number of red cars can be computed using the formula below:

\begin{gathered} Number_{red\text{ cars}}=percentage\text{ }* total\text{ cars} \\ \text{Number}_{red\text{ cars}}=20\text{\% of 60} \\ \text{Number}_{\text{red cars}}=(20)/(100)*60=(20*60)/(100)=(1200)/(100) \\ \text{Number}_{\text{red cars}}=12 \end{gathered}

Hence, 12 out of the 60 cars are red which is option C.
