Phoenicia was a Mediterranean civilization which surged from Lebanon and developed an empire at the sea, mainly due their maritime realms around 1550 to 300 BCE which allowed them to trade around the Mediterran Sea, and the alphabet invention was key in developing an efficient communication system to trade and prosper.

Thus among some of the best from their legacy we have indeed the "tyrian purple" which is a natural dyestuff aka "Phoenician Purple" used to color garments; of course we inherited their avanced trading skills and we also kept the alphabet.
