To get how much Sakeem gets per square foot of sod. Subtract how much he charges to his customer by how much his supplier charges per square foot of sod.


\begin{gathered} \$2.00-\$0.43 \\ =\$1.57 \end{gathered}

From this, we can conclude that Sakeem profits $1.57 per square foot of sod to his customers. If we let x be the number of square foot of sod, and y is the profit. Then the equation is


y=\$1.57x
(1.57x^2)/(x)=y
