Notice that the exterior angle of 162 degrees and angle x are supplementary, therefore:


x^(\circ)+162^(\circ)=180^(\circ)

solving for x we get:


\begin{gathered} x^(\circ)=(180-162)^(\circ) \\ x^(\circ)=18^(\circ) \end{gathered}
