A coal-burning power plant is a type of power plant in which uses thermal power, burning coal, to generate electricity through a process that heats water in the process, the step by step of this type of power plant can be listed in the following order:

1. Coal is fed into a boiler where it is burned

2. Burning coal produces heat energy

3. Heat energy is used to heat water forming steam

4. Steam moves through pipes to a turbine

5. The steam turns the turbine

6. The turbine is connected to a generator that produces electricity
