False. This question is meant to trick you. The dangerous part of sunlight is Ultra Violet light, an unseeable spectrum of light which can cause burns called sunburns. Sunburns however are not the only danger as UV light can also cause mutation of cells genetic material causing cancer.

UV light also has several specturms itself and is able to go through certain objects like those of outdoor shade and clear glass. Yes they do afford protection but not from all forms of UV rays.
