the given figure is right angle triangle so we can use here Pythagoras theorem

here,

perpendicular = 32

hypotenuse = 38

base = x

so by using Pythagoras theorems


x^2+32^2=38^2
\begin{gathered} x^2=1444-1024 \\ x^2=420 \end{gathered}

take root both side,


x=20.49

thus, the length of the shadow is 20.49 m
