We know that any line of the form:

x=a

is a vertical line. We also know that the slope of a line is given by:

m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

but for a vertical line the x componentes of any two points on the line will be the same, this means that the denominator of the slope will be zero and we know that the quotient by zero is not defined.

Therefore the slope of the line x=3 is undefined
