A spinner is divided into five colored sections that are not of equal size: red, blue, green, yellow, and purple. The spinner is spun several times, and the results are recorded below: Spinner Results Color Frequency Red 5 Blue Green Yellow Purple 7 3 8 9 Based on these results, express the probability that the next spin will land on green as a fraction in simplest form.

The spinner is divided into different sections by color and each color is represented as shown in the picture.

When next the spinner is spun, the probability that it will land on a green section is derived as follows;

\begin{gathered} P\lbrack E\rbrack=\frac{\text{Number of required outcomes}}{Number\text{ of all possible outcomes}} \\ P\lbrack\text{green\rbrack}=(3)/(32) \end{gathered}

The probability that the next spin will land on a green is therefore derived as 3/32.

Note that the required outcome is for the spinner to land on the green section and the experiment showed a likelihood of three times out of a total spin of 32 spins.
