SOLUTION

That morning, the magnitude of the earthquake was 5.5

Later an after shock which is 50 times less than the earthquake was noticed.

The magnitude of the aftershock will be

\begin{gathered} \frac{magnitude\text{ of earthquake }}{50} \\ \text{because it was 50 times less than the earthquake} \\ So,\text{ we have } \\ (5.5)/(50) \\ =0.11 \end{gathered}

Hence the answer is 0.11
