Answer:

4

Explanation:

We do the ones that are in parenthesis first. Find out the exponent. 2 to the power of two is 4. 3-4=-1. Then we would add 5. 5+-1 would result of 4.

Hello, there!

In order to solve problems like this DO PEMDAS

Parentheses \\ Exponent \\ Multiplication \\ Division \\ Addition \\ Subtraction

The Exponent:

2^2

So,
2^2 equals 4

Your problem becomes
(3 - 4) + 5

Now we have to do what is in the
parentheses (
(3 - 4)

4 = -4 ( the
4 is a
negative )

And
3 - 4 = -1

Problem becomes
(-1) + 5

(-1) + 5 = 4

So, this means that your answer would be
4

Good luck on your assignment and enjoy your day!
