Cones and Candy sells candy as well as snow-cones. Roberto uses paper cone cups to fill the snowcones that have a volume of 12.8 cubic inches. If theheight of the cone is 4 inches what is the diameter?Use 3.14 to approximate pi.

The volume of a cone is given by:

V=(1)/(3)\pi r^2h

Where:

V = Volume = 12.8in³

π = 3.14

r = Radius

h = height = 4in

Solve the formula of the volume for r:

\begin{gathered} r^2=(3V)/(\pi h) \\ r=\sqrt[]{(3V)/(\pi h)} \\ r=\sqrt[]{(3\cdot12.8)/(3.14\cdot4)} \\ r\approx1.7485in \end{gathered}

The diameter is given by:

\begin{gathered} d=2\cdot r \\ so\colon \\ d=2\cdot1.7485 \\ d=3.497in \end{gathered}
