Karin and Cheryl do not have the same average actually. I know this because, just because Cheryl and Karin have the same numbers in their average does not mean they literally HAVE the SAME average. Think about it this way, if you take out the zero and the decimal in both of their averages, Cheryl's average is 340. Karin's is 304. If you think about it in hundreds...Cheryl has a better average then Karin. So therefore, Cheryl's average is more than Karin's, so they do not have the same average.

Hope this helps!!

Answer:

Cheryl have greater average than Karin not same.

Explanation:

We are given that Cheryl's softball batting average =0.340

Karin's softball batting average=0.304

Karin says that they have the same average.

We have to find that what error she makes and explain

In the average value of Cheryl

Place of 3=Tenth

Place of 4=Hundredth

Place of 0=Thousandth

In Karin's average value

Place of 3=Tenth

Place of 0=Hundredth

Place of 4=Thousandth

Therefore, same digits occupy different place in two given values.

Hundredth place of 0.340 is greater than the hundredth place of 0.304.

Hence, 0.340 is greater than 0.304.

Therefore, she makes error and given values are different not same..

Cheryl have greater average than Karin not same
