1. Substitute y in the first equation into the second one.
x+4=-2x-2

Add 2x to both sides
3x+4=-2

Subtract 4 from both sides
3x=-6

Divide both sides by 3
x=-2

Plug in the x value
y=-2+4
y=2

Final answer: (-2,2)

2. There are 0 solutions because the lines are parallel and will never cross each other
