The answer is 8x. That is because like terms are similar variable parts, and both 6 and 2 are being multiplied by x.

6x and 2x have the same variable and are raised to the same power. That means that they are like terms and can be combined.
6x + 2x = (6 + 2)x = 8x
So, 8x is the answer.
