In a ISOTONIC solution, there is no net change in the water between the outside and the inside of the cell. This is because the concentration of solutes inside the cell and outside the cell are equal, so there is no net change in the amount of the solution. The two solution has the same osmotic pressure across the semi permeable membrane.
