What was Winthrop strengeth and weaknesses as a leader

Winthrop tended to be a benevolent leader, oftentimes helping out those who were less fortunate of his own funds. One of the biggest issues he had, however, was that his constituents felt that he was a somewhat ineffective leader at times, and it led to his demotion.
