Once large-scale agriculture developed in these regions, they were able to settle down in larger groups forming some of the first urban centers and cities. They could focus on art, technology, science as well as other achievements making life easier. Social structures began to form as certain people began taking on other roles in the community. Economies changed from simple bartering and coinage began to be used later on. Trade between different groups formed, and this spread knowledge and technology.

they needed the water from the river to grow their crops, therefore, they began to settle by rivers and their civilization began to grow because they stayed in the same place for agriculture too.
