Given that

The length of a rectangle is 5 cm less than 3 times the width. The perimeter of the rectangle is 94 cm.

Explanation -

The perimeter of the rectangle is 94 cm.

Let the length be l and the breadth be b.

And the formula for the perimeter is

P=2(l+b)

Now according to the question

l=3b-5

On substituting the values we have

\begin{gathered} 94=2(3b-5+b) \\ 94=2(4b-5) \\ 4b-5=(94)/(2) \\ 4b-5=47 \\ 4b=47+5=52 \\ b=(52)/(4) \\ b=13 \end{gathered}

For length
