When String A is played with String B, itcreates a 3.0 Hz beat frequency. WhenString A is played with String C, itcreates a 3.0 Hz beat frequency. If youplay String B and C together, what beatfrequency will they make? (There are.two possible answers; give one.)(Unit = Hz)

Beat frequency = change in frequency = v2 - v1

From the information given,

When String A is played with String B, it creates a 3.0 Hz beat frequency. It means that

VB - VA = 3

When

String A is played with String C, it creates a 3.0 Hz beat frequency. It means that

VA - VC = 3

By adding both equations, wehave

VB - VC - VA + VA = 3 + 3 = 6

VB - VA = 6

If you play String B and C together, they would make a frequency of 6 Hz
