step 1

Find out the area of triangle F

Remember that

the area of a triangle is equal to

A=(1/2)bh

we have

b=6 units

h=8 units

substitute

A=(1/2)(6)(8)

A=24 units2

step 2

Find out the area of triangle G

we have

b=3 units

h=4 units

A=(1/2)(3)(4)

A=6 units2

therefore

Triangle G to Triangle F

divide 24 by 6

24/6=4

so

the area of triangle F is 4 times the area of the triangle G

step 3

Find out the area of the triangle H

we have

b=2 units

h=8/3 unit

substitute

A=(1/2)(2)(8/3)

A=8/3 units2

therefore

Triangle F to triangle H

in this case triangle, F is larger than triangle H

so

Divide 4 by 8/3

4/(8/3)=12/8=6/4=3/2=1.5

therefore

the area of triangle F is 1.5 times greater than the area of triangle H

or

the area of triangle H is 1.5 times less than the area of triangle F
