Lack of water can lead to outbreaks of diseases such as Cholera and Gastrointeritis. In the event of outbreaks schools are usually closed, cutting the time for teaching and learning. Schools are sometimes dismissed early in the event of water outages. This too cuts the time for teaching and learning. Country or nationwide water shortages can lead to a drop in attendance for both teachers and students also cutting the time of teaching and learning.
