simplify both sides of the equations and add 3/4k to both sides then add 3 to both sides and multiply both sides by 4/5 next you will get your answer

First, combine the like terms
1/2k - 3 = 2 - 3/4k
-1/2k. ||| -1/2k
______________
0 - 3. = 2 - 1.25k
______________
-3 = 2 - 1.25k
-2 ||| -2
______________
-5 = -1.25k
----- ||| ----------
-1.25 ||| -1.25
____________
4 = k
