In geometric progression, the ratio of each number to the preceding one is the same. which is an example of a geometric progression?

1st Example: first term 5, and ratio r = 2
5 , 10 , 20 , 40 , 80, ...

2nd Example: first term 5, and ratio r = - 2
5 , - 10 , +20 , -40, +80, ....

common ratio (r) = 4/2 = 2

Example 2:

4, 16, 64, 256, 1024....

Let's take 3rd and 4th terms. They are preceding terms.

Let's find the ratio

common ration (r) = 256/64 = 4
