Hi!

The absolute value of a number will always be positive! This means that the absolute value of -1.25 is 1.25.

With this in mind, we can successfully locate two points on the number line with the value of 1.25 (positive and negative), and take the absolute value of them in order to get 1.25.

The points you have chosen are -0.5, and 1.5. These points are not 1.25. If you look at the small vertical line next to 1, you can see that it represents 1.25.

Each small vertical line represents an increase (or decrease) of 0.25. With this in mind, we can locate 1.25 on both the positive and negative sides of the number line.

The small vertical line to the right of -1.5 is -1.25, which has an absolute value of 1.25. Lastly, the small vertical line to the right of 1 has a value of 1.25, which has an absolute value of 1.25.

Hopefully, this helps! =)
