An automobile factory can 18 cars in 8 hours. At this rate how many cars can the factory assemble in 14 hours?

Production rate = 18 cars/ 8 hours

Applying the unitary method give us the appropiate relationship as shown as follows:


\text{Number of cars assembled}_{14\text{ hours}}=\frac{18\text{ cars }}{8\text{ hours}}\cdot14\text{ hours}
\text{Number of cars assembled}_{14\text{ hours}}=(252)/(8)=31.5\text{ cars}

At this rate the factory could produce approximately 31 cars in 14 hours.
