The total amount spent at the convenience store is;

y\text{ = 2.59x + 5.57}

Here, we want to find an equation that represents the amount spent at the convenience store

From the question, we can see that she bought three things at the store

1) A drink

2) 2 bag of chips

3) x gallons of fuel

To calculate the total amount spent at the store, we shall find the individual amount spent on each so we can know the total amount spent at the store

From the question;

a drink costs $2.99 and she bought 1 drink

The amount spent on drinks is just 1 * $2.99 = $2.99

Furthermore;

She bought 2 bags of chips

From the question, 1 bag costs $1.29

Thus, the cost of two bags will be $1.29 * 2 = $2.58

Lastly to the gallon of gasoline;

1 gallon cost $2.59

The cost of x gallons will be x * 2.59 = $2.59x

So, we proceed to add all of these together so we get the total amount spent y

Mathematically, that will be;

y = 2.59x + 2.58 + 2.99

y = 2.59x + 5.57
