In Coach Sullivan's gym class, there are 28 girls and 35 boys. Coach Sullivan plans to divide the students into teams so that each team has the same number of girls and the same number of boys. Coach Sullivan also wants to make as many teams as she possibly can.

How many teams will Coach Sullivan be able to make? How many girls will be on each team? How many boys will be on each team?

This a problem of GCF ( greatest common factor)
We have 28 girls and 35 boys.
28 is divisible by 2, 7 and 14 →→28 = 2x2x7
35 is divisible by 5 and 7 →→→→35 = 5x7
We notice that the greatest COMMON factor is 7.
If we divide the 28 girls by 7 we will get 7 teams with 4 girls in each team
If we divide the 35 boys by 7 we will get 7 teams with 5 boys in each team

Answer: 7 teams of girls and each team has 4 girls
And 7 teams of boys and each team has 5 boys
