4/7=1/2+x

Find a common demominator. ( sorry I spelled it wrong)
8/14=7/14+x

Subtract 7/14 from each side.
8/14-7/14=7/14-714+x
1/14=x
1/14 is the answer

Answer:

(1)/(14)

Explanation:

(4)/(7) is the result when 1/2 and x are added.

Frame an equation using the given statement

(4)/(7) =(1)/(2)+x

To solve the equation for x , subtract 1/2 on both sides

(4)/(7) - (1)/(2)=x

To add or subtract fractions, the denominator should be same

LCD is 14

(8)/(14) - (7)/(14)=x

Now subtract the fractions

(1)/(14)=x

(4)/(7) is the result when 1/2 and
(1)/(14) are added.
